When I teach social media classes, the number one rule I give my students is Always Provide Value. I see so many businesses using Facebook as a way to broadcast: that day’s specials, the sale they’re having next week. Customers want to know that stuff, they want the discounts, so it’s not that that information is not valuable. It’s just not engaging.

What’s engaging? Fun stories, photos, and good stuff that you’ve sourced from your travels on the interwebz.

What do you think of this 70% Value and Relevant Content, 20% Shared Content, and 10% Promotional Content rule??
